Dear Basketball Enthusiast:

      The 2008 Big Bear Boys and Girls Basketball Tournaments are proud to announce our Tenth annual events. Both the girl’s and boy’s tourneys will be offered on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, March 14th, 15th, and 16th. Divisions will be broken down as follows:

	Boys 7th Grade	Division Three	Eight Teams
	Boys 8th Grade B	Division Four	Eight Teams
	Boys 8th Grade A (large)	Division Five	Eight Teams

      Each team entered in one of the above divisions must consist of youth that meet both the age and grade requirements outlined in this package. Each team is guaranteed three games. The tournament will be limited in each of the above divisions, and organizations which enter teams in multiple divisions will be given first priority.

      The Big Bear Boys and Girls Basketball Tournament Committee will invite and accept teams from small communities. These teams will preferably be recreation teams whose All Stars are chosen from league play, or teams from one school or club. No traveling/all net teams will be accepted unless divisions are not full. The tournament committee will have sole authority in determining bracketing and appraising team content.

      The entry fee is $160 per team. An additional $85 mailed in with entry fees will purchase 11 commemorative tournament shirts for your team. T-shirts will be on sale at the tournament at a cost of $10 per shirt, and sweat shirts will be available for $25.

      A maximum of ten members per team with two coaches plus two alternates will be allowed. Individual trophies will be awarded to the champion, runner-up, and consolation champion in the eight team divisions, and first and second place teams in the four team divisions. (maximum ten awards per team)

All forms must be returned with a non-refundable fee of $160 per team (plus $85 if you would like shirts), made payable to the Big Bear Valley Recreation and Park District by Friday, Febraury 22th, 2008 for all teams. Teams will not be officially registered until the fee and registration forms are received.

      We are hoping to offer a unique small community atmosphere to other small community leagues. We have invited only small community leagues/programs including Big Bear, Barstow, Needles, Carpinteria, Twentynine Palms, Yucca Valley, Lake Arrowhead, Banning, Beaumont, Palm Springs, and Sylmar . We will open up to other programs to fill spots if needed. We look forward to providing an outstanding weekend of competition and fun for your team, in the mountains.
